Toronto Mosque Increases Security After Threats Ahead of Ramadan

The Toronto Islamic Centre and Community Services, located on Yonge Street north of Bloor Street, has hired an additional security guard for Ramadan following what its general manager described as “deeply disturbing” threats.

Hawzah News Agency- In a show of interfaith solidarity, Michael Dolgin, senior rabbi at Temple Sinai Congregation of Toronto, visited the mosque, stating that hatred targeting Muslims affects all communities and emphasizing the importance of standing together against religious intolerance.

Despite the threats, mosque officials say the spirit of Ramadan remains strong. Community leaders, however, are calling on elected officials to provide stronger protections and resources to safeguard places of worship.
